Mind Power: Peak Performance with Optimism

With rising standard of living and increased work pressure, stress inevitable creeps into our lives. One way to prevent ourselves from suffering the detrimental effects of stress is to make optimism a part of our attitude. Optimism is an attitude which "keeps you going when you already want to stop".  Optimism also goes hand in hand with will and determination.

Consider this scenario: your goal is to be financially successful yet you just lost your job. You seek employment in various companies but ended up being rejected.

In this situation, optimism might not be enough to get you through.  You need to have determination and the will to go on and massive amount of action to reach your objective. By looking at things optimistically, you can always tell yourself that it does not matter if you keep on being rejected from other companies, you can always try again and there are still other options, such as starting your own business, working at home, etc.

Another thing about optimism - you also have to pair it with sense.  Have you ever met people who seem to have their heads up in the air because what they are trying to achieve is totally impossible?  When you practice optimism, make sure that your goal makes sense and you have to base it with reality.

By doing so, you can be assured that more or less, by hard work and sincere effort, you can achieve your goal.  Always remember that optimism is useless if you use it for far-off dreams, like you waking up to find that you have grown some angel wings overnight.

Generally, optimism can really be a source of inspiration and enlightenment to people.  It is a way for people to boost their inner strength when they already feel like giving up.  Throughout the years, optimism has been responsible for the success of a lot of people who never expected that they could achieve their goals, but still were determined enough to do so.  Some would even say that optimism is a trait which helped them to keep their sanity during times when they thought they were really on the verge of going bananas because of their problems!

Developing an optimistic mindset is going to put you in a position in spotting opportunities and turning failures into important learning lessons. The key here is to combine logic and optimism and you will be more productive in many areas of life. Continue reading subconscious mind articles

Mind Power: The 3Ps’ That Will Make You A Champion!

Success can be elusive. It can find its way out of our lives. Why?
Well part of the reason why is because we ‘settle’. We allow answers, solutions and circumstances to enter our lives that are not congruent with who we really are.

For example, we may be asking for ‘the answer’ to a desired relationship. Or we may be praying for a ‘solution’ to a financial situation. But when that relationship comes in the form of a person that may or may not be ‘the right person’, we settle. mind power

And if that ‘financial solution’ comes in the form of a J-O-B. . . when it’s not the kind of work we know we’re cut out for, we settle.

If we allow certain circumstances in our lives – ultimately settling for less than greatness – we accept less than greatness for ourselves. Consequently, our greatness is muddied and oppressed by our own decisions.

Here are three things you must know to enhance your life of personal success. I call them the Three P’s of Personal Success.

Principles

We all stand for something. And if you don’t know right now , it would be extremely beneficial to grab a piece of paper and start taking a mental , physical and spiritual inventory of your life. If you don’t stand for anything , you’ll end up a nothing. By taking a stand, you adopt a set of principles in your life that guide your decisions and outcomes. Your life will be as rich as your principles. Choose carefully and wisely. And just as important – do not comprise your principles.

Nuts and Bolts to Applying the Law of Attraction

The advent of the popular "The Secret" brought a whole new level of awareness to the general public about the Law of Attraction and the powers of manifestation lying deep in our subconscious mind. While it provides useful starter information to the Law of Attraction, unsurprisingly, it left many lost on their tracks as to what would be the next phase to begin on. "How do I apply the Law of Attraction?" If you recall "The Secret", the Law of Attraction begins with your thoughts. You are what you think. Your thoughts determine your achievements yet many of us keep negative and unhealthy thoughts in our mind. And we seriously need to change that.

You simply have to watch what you are thinking. And it’s easy to do that by observing your emotions. When you are feeling joy, happiness, you are reasonating with positive vibes and sending out healthy, positive manifestation energy out to the universe. When you have feelings of anger, resentment, you are engage in negative thinking that serves to destroy your manifestation ability. Fortunately, there is a way to stay and feel positive and that is the power of positive affirmations.

The Secret Tools To Great Meditation

Meditation can be a simple practice or it can be elaborate—this depends entirely upon the imagination of the practitioner. Some prefer a simple, relaxing breath monitoring session whereas others are more inclined towards that which resembles a religious practice (e.g., the use of candles, music, incense, etc.) The choice is, ultimately yours. To follow, we will introduce the individual interested in meditative practice to some “tools of the trade.”

One requirement for meditation is a posture conducive to meditation. There are aids to help one achieve a more relaxed, meditation-conducive posture, one of which is the zafu. The zafu is a round, fluffy cushion often stuffed with cattail or buckwheat husks that is often utilized in meditation, especially in the Zen Buddhist tradition. The zafu helps one by aiding in leg positioning such that one can more easily acquire half lotus or the full lotus position. Often times a Yoga mat is used as well underneath the cushion to provide more stability and less distraction.

Zen and the Art of Meditation

The traditions of Buddhism are varied and diverse. Perhaps more people are familiar with the following two forms of Buddhism (at least here in the West) than any of the others: Tibetan Buddhism and Zen Buddhism. When one thinks of Tibetan Buddhism, one perhaps most often thinks of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan branch of Buddhist religion. When one thinks of Zen, however, one might get a little confused…

An Introduction to Meditation

We, in the West, tend to think of meditation in terms of an intense, concentrative and reflective effort upon a thing with the goal being to provide one with a deeper understanding of the object of reflection. In the East, however, one seeks to be freed from all thought (viewed as a distraction) in meditation by means of allowing consciousness to dissipate into the pervasive “oneness” of things—something that must truly be experienced to be understood.

How to Take Control of Your Life

The title of this article contains a misnomer (albeit an intentional one), and that is the word: control. For the key to taking (or taking back) control over your life is to release control and instead direct the course of your life.

Consider the Source, the Life Force underlying everything, as a boundless ocean. You need to nothing to remain afloat in this ocean other than to stop resisting, stop flailing about in fear of drowning, relax, and let the water support you.

When we are still and free of resistance or – to frame it in the positive – allowing, we float, the water supports us. We can then choose to pause there awhile to enjoy the experience with all our senses or swim in the direction of a different experience.

8 Tips for Achieving Your Goals

We all have goals and aspirations.  Much to our chagrin though, our goals and aspirations require effort and often lots of it.  As well, one typically does not achieve his or her goals over night.  This takes time…often much time.  In the following, we will discuss eight different ways to obtain and retain motivation so that you can start on the path to achieving your goals today.

1) Set only one goal at a time.  Oftentimes we sabotage our success because we spread ourselves too thin and broaden our focus instead of narrowing it, honing it in on one particular task at a time.  Start with one goal and simplify this goal down to its bare essence such that the goal can be stated concretely in about 10 words or less.  E.g., “I want to lose 10 lbs. in six weeks.”
